REL="AUTHOR": EASY STEPS TO IMPLEMENTING GOOGLE AUTHORSHIP MARKUP BY KULIKO.CA

The long-awaited Google Authorship Markup Tool was introduced in June 07, 2011, announced Via Google Webmaster Central Blog. Authorship will allow you to link your Google+ personal profile to your unique content at any place around the web, although Author Rank is the concept that Google could use data gathered via Authorship to build trust and recognition results for personal authors that might influence search result rankings with regards to content.

What is Authorship?

Google Authorship is an effective way to get quality content on the Google’s search result. It is markup system which links author to their work, through their Google+ profile.

Setting up Authorship

There are a few points you may need so that you can step up Author Rich Snippets:

1.    The very first thing that you may need is a Google+ account.

2.    You can sign up for Google Authorship at https://plus.google.com/authorship. You may be required to submit your e-mail address to Google. Regardless of how many articles or blog posts you publish on your own domain, you simply need to submit the email to Google just once. This email address will then be included to the Contributor section of the Google+ profile.

3.    Click the Contribute to section with your Google+ profile. Click on “Add a custom link” and type in the URL for your site. Check out the snapshot mentioned below…

4.    Add a link to your Google+ profile from your webpage. You need to put this code on the <head> section of your website – when you don’t have access, asks your website company to add it for you. The link should look like this:
<link rel=”author” href=” [profile_url]“>
You need to replace [profile_url] with your Google+ profile URL, so the link would look like this:
<link rel=”author” href=”https://plus.google.com/111510151647324850887″>

5.    Once you create your Google Authorship as explained above you may check your results while using Structured Data Testing Tool. Click here to confirm you set up Google Authorship at http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets. (You could possibly not see benefits quickly, so be patient & check back in a few days in case your site won't appear the first time.)

Enter your site and click Preview. Google will show the results below and confirm no matter whether or not you've properly claimed Authorship.

Bottom Line

When you follow these techniques probably right after a while Google starts showing your authorship picture along with your information beside both of your content into their searches, while I have to declare that they may not assurance that, so all the best on this.
